The monograph presents a systematic investigation of the mechanisms and regularities governing segmental and suprasegmental phonetic means in the actualisation of meaning in English emotional utterances. It establishes general linguistic foundations, theoretical premises and methodological principles for addressing these questions and reports experimental testing of several theoretical propositions. Methodological foundations and a systematic procedure are proposed for creating a sound archive documenting English pronunciation culture.
