Olha Valihura. Phonetic Interference in the English Speech of Ukrainian Bilinguals

The monograph proposes an integrated approach to bilingualism and phonetic interference within the cognitive and discursive paradigm. It examines phonetic interference in the English speech of Ukrainian speakers through the interaction of linguocommunicative and communicative approaches. The work establishes methodological premises for a typology of bilingualism, a general classification of language and speech interference, and a classification of phonetic interference. It also develops a cognitive model of speech production and a spatial model of bilingual mental and speech activity.
