Congratulations to Alla Andriivna Kalyta, Oleksandr Valerianovych Klymeniuk and Larysa Ivanivna Taranenko on the publication of their long-awaited monograph “Manipulation in Speech Communication”.

The monograph presents elements of the conceptual and synergetic foundations for a contemporary scientific account of manipulation in speech communication, using the orthodox-alternative approach of monistic dialectics.

It presents a nuclear-content matrix analysis of existing definitions of speech manipulation; a methodology and algorithm for formulating manipulation goals; models of the production and decoding of manipulative meaning; an analysis of strategies, tactics and means of manipulative influence; a megaclassification of communicants’ instincts, emotions and feelings; a model of the mechanism of manipulation in communication; and an account of fluctuations in the psychophysiological energy of the speaker and recipient.

The book is intended for professional cognitive researchers across disciplines, lecturers, Master’s and doctoral students, and their research supervisors.
