Dissertation abstract: the study analyses variation in phonetic, lexical and grammatical deviations across periods of dialect use and according to speakers’ gender, age and sociocultural background. Frequency matrices show substantial dialect variation at all language levels, particularly the phonetic level, with sociocultural dependence decreasing from high levels in 1960–1990 to minimal or zero levels after 2000.
A high frequency of dialectal deviations from the standard was found both among speakers aged 61–80 and among those aged 16–20, correlating with key stages of socialization. Women’s speech showed greater conformity to the standard at phonetic and lexical levels. At the grammatical level, the frequency of deviations was almost the same for women and men.
