Alla Kalyta. Actualisation of the Emotional and Pragmatic Potential of an Utterance

Within the functional and energetic approach to English emotional utterances proposed in the monograph, the author develops comprehensive multilevel models of the full and partial spaces in which emotional and pragmatic speech factors interact. The theoretical principle of conserving an utterance’s emotional and pragmatic potential is substantiated. The work presents theoretical and methodological foundations and the results of an experimental phonetic study of the actualisation of the components of that potential.
